Data sources
Where Landlines gets its data
Every parcel boundary and every piece of public-record property information in Landlines (owner name, mailing address, and last-sale figures where a government source publishes them) comes from official government open-data sources: state GIS clearinghouses, county and municipal GIS programs, and county property appraiser / assessor offices. This information is public record, published by those agencies under state open-records laws. Landlines does not create, alter, or certify boundaries — it displays what the source agency publishes.
Inside the app, every parcel’s detail sheet names the exact government source it came from (a “Data source” credit), so you can always see which agency published the record you are viewing. The list below shows the primary official government source for each state, with a link to that agency’s public site. Coverage is expanding continuously.

Georgia — county & regional sources
Georgia has no single statewide parcel program, and Landlines does not cover the whole state — only the specific counties listed here, each served by that county’s assessor / GIS office (some via a regional commission or shared hosting). Links go to each source’s public ArcGIS service metadata page or official county GIS page. The Southern Georgia Regional Commission (SGRC) operates the services for Atkinson, Berrien, Coffee, Cook, and Irwin counties.

South Dakota — county & local sources
South Dakota has no single statewide parcel program, and Landlines does not cover the whole state — only the specific areas listed here, each served by its own local government GIS / director of equalization office:
- City of Sioux Falls — entire city limits (spans both Minnehaha and Lincoln counties): parcel boundaries come from the City of Sioux Falls GIS “Property” service. The City maintains the parcel shapes, addresses, and land use; per that service, the legal descriptions and ownership are “maintained by Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties” and combined into the city layer — so Sioux Falls parcels in both counties are covered by this single city source.
- Minnehaha County — rural / unincorporated areas outside the city: parcel boundaries and public-record ownership from Minnehaha County Equalization & GIS.
- Pennington County — Rapid City area: parcel boundaries and public-record ownership from the Pennington County Director of Equalization.
Landlines does not currently cover Lincoln County outside the Sioux Falls city limits, or any other South Dakota county.
Where a state does not publish a single statewide parcel feed, Landlines uses the official GIS and appraiser/assessor sources of the individual counties and municipalities within that state (published through the state agency linked below); the specific source is also credited on each parcel in the app. Government agencies publish this data “as is,” and records can lag real-world changes. Landlines is an informational reference tool, not a legal survey or a substitute for a title search.
